One Piece

My favorite tv shows it's a anime calls One Piece, created by Eichiro Oda. I started watching the serial because my girlfriend it's a really huge fan and convinced me. At first it was difficult because had too match chapters (more than eight hundred) but the story was so epic,  entreatment that I didn't noticed the time. The show is about a boy who wants to become the king of pirate and in that "hero trip" he will make friends, fight against villains and a darkness true: the government hides secrets to the people.   My favorite episode is one of the firsts one. The main character, Luffy, eats a devil fruit who gives him a superpower: the possibility to extend his extremities, but don't let him swim. It's my favorite because it let the story develops a lot and put a big challenge: to be a king of pirate without swimming (the price of eating the devil fruit).  My favorite character is Sanji because is the cooker of the ship and I like to cook. ouch! my knee

A subject that caught my attention during this semester is my knee injury. All started a month ago playing a soccer match. I'm not the best player in the world but the past time I had been practiced to be better. I join in a team and started playing in small league on my faculty.  Everything was ok until I broke my knee during one game. At first  I thought it's was just a little muscle strain, even I went home on bicycle after the match, but the pain came later, at night. I couldn't sleep because it was so uncomfortable. Next morning my mom took me to the hospital and they told me that It was probably that I had to be operated. Thank god It wasn't necessary, but the doctor told me that I would need to use crutches for a long time. It's was really an experience to me because I had never been injured for so long in my life. I needed to lear how to walk with crutches, going to the bathroom and use the public transport.  I don't wish it to anyone...

New new wave

At the beginning of this year, I started a podcast about music called "The New-New Wave" with some friends. It airs on JGM Radio  (a ICEI radio station) on Thursdays and Saturdays at 10 pm. If you cannot catch the live broadcast, you can also try to listen to it on Spotify, Itunes or Ivoox.  We decided to create "La Nueva-Nueva Ola" because, last year, we participated in another program about rock music  only, so we felt like talking about other genres. I must confess t hat it has been a big challenge. You need to do a great number of arduous tasks to bring a radio program to life ( and many of them we did not know how to do them properly). You have to manage social media sites, send and reply e-mails, setup sound systems and equipment, such as microphones, mixing consoles, etc.  Despite the fact managing a radio show is a lot of work, I enjoy carrying it out. Also, it's a good way to understand how radio works and practice my "journalism skills&qu

Sweet youth (Post 5)

In the picture you can see a young Cristobal drinking vodka with passion. I remember the story: I was 16 years old (2013) and my mom gave me permission to celebrate a party in my building. I invited my whole class and many people of the school. We bought a lot of drinks and we put some good old reggaeton.  Next to me, Javier, the only person in my class who was taller than me. Currently, he is in the navy. I do not see too much because he's the kind of person who forces you to drink alcohol without soda. It is really a bad practice, I felt very bad the next day. Apart from the alcohol, Javier was very intense and that intensified over time When looking for the photo for my publication, I felt a bit nostalgic for those moments. All my course separated after we finished school. I go out with many of them separately, but it's not the same. I hope that, in about 10 years, we can meet and talk about the school and its good or bad things.

MOM OF JOURNALISM

It's difficult to speak of  "experts" about journalism because journalism is about many things. However, I think if I had to recommend some book of the "eminences", I would choose one of María Olvia Mönckeberg (MOM). Mönckeberg studied journalism on PUC and worked in many projects who writed news and information against dictatorship. She have a really commitment with true and humans rights and his works are the result of an investigation carried out with dedication and seriousness.  I would recommend some of his books because they talk about really interesting topics like the owners of the newspapers, business in dictatorship, education, etc. It's a good way to learn who "cuts the cheese" in this country. The only problem with Mönckeberg is that his classes are very boring. I recommend her as a book author, not as a teacher.

Gender and stereotypes

It's really hard to give my opinion about this kind of topic. I don't really have good English to express all my ideas, but! This is a good try: I'm absolutely convinced that women and men are equal. Of course, our bodies are different, but our capacities to think or our strength are equal. For example, I have seen many school classmates with really better marks on maths (and many people say that mathematics is "masculine" science) or many women who have beaten me in football (and everyone says that men are better in sports). Where is the reason for all this?  I must admit that I am not sure of the "only truth" about this problem, but I think that a big part of the problem is education. When we were kids, learned us many wrongs stereotypes about what it is like for boys and what it is for girls. The boys are forced to play sports, fight and aspire to be a policemans or politicians (powerful professions). The girls are forced to learn about home ac

Oh nourriture délicieuse

As in other post I have already mentioned, I really like cousine. I think it's one of my favorite things. I like cook and eat , the two sides of a beatiful job. I like cousine because eating is one of the few pleasures that are necessary to live. If you don't eat you can't stay alive. Also it's a good way to assist on your home (if you live with someone else) and keep your body health.  I started liking the kitchen when I started my current relationship. I was left alone with her and we needed to eat something (more than just fast food). I suddenly realized that I knew more than others partners. I cook four or five times a week, but I think it's once a month where I'm really dedicated to learning and mastering a recipe (Ok, that's sounds really professional, but It's like: "Today I'm going to lear to do my own pasta") In the future I intend to open a restaurant. In the summers I work in restaurants to learn more and have some exper
